Celebrity Slim is a nutritionally balanced meal replacement program designed to help you lose weight and keep it off for good. There's no calorie-counting, no points system and no gimmicks. It's just weight management - pure and simple.

Celebrity Slim is easy to follow and based on regular snacks and healthy eating. Simply replace two meals each day with delicious Celebrity Slim shakes, soups or bars, eat one healthy balanced meal and snack up to 3 times on a variety of yummy, allowable foods between meals.

It's not a 'quick fix' that will send your weight yo-yoing either. Celebrity Slim is about changing the way you think about food and helping you change your eating habits - so you don't just lose weight, you learn how to keep it off in the long term.

Put simply, the Celebrity Slim Program works by boosting your metabolism to burn more calories. This is achieved by restricting the amount of carbohydrates and overall energy calories in your diet, and eating 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day (this includes snacks) rather than the traditional 2-3 larger meals.

A Typical Day on Celebrity Slim

Two of your meals each day will be Celebrity Slim Shakes, Bars or Soups. One meal should be a healthy balanced meal. The other three meals are snacks that you can choose yourself!

Remember, the program is flexible so you can swap meals around to suit your lifestyle; so if you can't have your balanced meal for dinner, have it for lunch instead!

Cutting Back on Carbohydrates

The carbohydrates we eat (such as sugar, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes wheat and flour etc.) are used by your body to maintain vital levels of sugars stored in your muscles and liver. These stored carbohydrates are the primary energy source that your body uses for everyday activities.

When you start dieting to lose weight, your body continues to burn up carbohydrates for energy. Only when these carbohydrate stores become low do you start to burn a significant amount of fat, and burning fat leads to the type of weight loss you want.

Unfortunately, even if you are dieting, each time you eat a meal containing a reasonable amount of carbohydrates, your carbohydrate stores get topped up again and you stop burning a lot of fat and go back to burning mostly carbohydrates - which slows down the whole weight loss process.

However, if you start to cut back on the amount of carbohydrates you eat, your stores run low, which forces your body to start burning more fat for energy, so you lose weight faster.

The Celebrity Slim Program is not a 'no' or 'low' carbohydrate diet - it does allow a regular intake of healthy fibrous carbohydrates. But compared to a traditional Western diet, it contributes about 1/4 of the amount.

What About Calories?

Many diets focus on counting calories, and work by making you consume less calories (energy) each day than your body needs. This forces your body to draw on your reserves of body fat to meet your energy needs and so you lose weight.

The Celebrity Slim Program is designed so that you don't really need to count calories. By following our simple guidelines, you'll not only cut back the amount of carbohydrates you eat, but in most cases you'll reduce your overall daily calorie consumption.

The Energy Equation

For anyone who is serious about losing weight, having a basic understanding of the energy equation is worthwhile. Almost everyone has a different daily calorie requirement, or in other words, a different amount of energy that their body burns each day. This is determined by many factors such as age, sex, body type, health status and level of physical activity.

When you consume less energy each day than your body burns, this forces your body to draw on your reserves of body fat to meet your energy needs, causing you to lose weight. So basically, as long as you consume less energy than your body burns each day, you will lose weight. It really is as simple as that!
